The Church of Jesus Christ of Latt…blah blah blah

10 Dec

I picked up this VHS – “We Believe in Christ” at Christian crap awhile ago. It’s from 1995 and apparently it’s supposed to teach people about LDS… and the fact that Mormons aren’t horrible heathens, and do indeed ‘believe in Christ’.

Narrated by Elder Jeffrey Holland, what I find most interesting is the shots of Jesus speaking with the South Americans. I’ve seen plenty of movies portraying Jesus of the Bible, but not the mormon Jesus. He basically has assigned seating all around him, he speaks very slowly without moving, and everyone wants to touch his hand holes (eewwwww!).

There is absolutely no limit to the wickedness of man’s imagination. Yet I have heard of a place, and believe it, where the road to wickedness has come to a dead end. At that place every lie will be shown for what it is. There will be no place to hide. And no lie will pass through. In this I take heart.

God teaches us to say “no” to sin and “yes” to Godliness. Without this teaching from God’s Spirit, how would any man stand a chance of avoiding the subtle lies that plague our world. All glory to Jesus, and that to the Father. Amen!

    By His Grace.

Sorry for my late reply to your comment. God’s teaching of say “no” to sin and “yes” to Godliness is amazing. I never would have thought of that. I’m not sure how I would have gone through life without such an amazing teaching.
      Thanks for sharing!
